Footpath Clearance Work
Occasionally when out on a walk recce we find a path has got very overgrown making it hard to follow.
Group volunteers Clive, Peta, Joy and Alison cleared a path in Punnett’s Town in September.
More recently, in November, Clive singlehandedly cleared a path near Brownbread Street, Ashburnham. This has been done to allow scheduled walks to go ahead with minimum safety issues. Well done team!

If you come across an overgrown or obstructed path on a public right of way the best first step is to report it using the East Sussex County Council reporting page here as they are responsible for maintaining public rights of way.
Twenty Walks Around Heathfield booklet goes online

Produced in partnership between the Heathfield and Waldron Parish Council and the Heathfield & District Ramblers the printed version of our Twenty Walks Around Heathfield booklet has now been uploaded to the Council’s website. It can be viewed as a booklet or downloaded as individual walks to print off.

Thanks to past and present members of the Heathfield & District Ramblers for the creation and re-walking of these paths.

Jeanine Jones Seat
The Heathfield and District Ramblers treasurer Chris Hicks has recently completed a project to restore a seat in memory of a long- standing member of our group. The inscription carved into the wood had become unreadable. Chris has cleaned it up and added an engraved plate etched with Jeanine Jones name.
Thank you, Chris, for a fantastic job. Jeanine loved Bewl Water, now walkers and others will be able to enjoy the view from her seat for years to come. You can find the seat at Browns Inlet, Bewl Water.
